When something happens you should not have to search the app. The amoviti app gives you shortcuts that open your emergency workflows in one step: a button inside the app, a shortcut on the app icon, and on iPhone a Home Screen widget, Lock Screen widgets, a Control Center control and the Action button.
The steps below are for each kind of phone. In the iPhone app you see the iPhone steps; in the Android app, the Android steps; here on the web, both.
What every shortcut does
- •It only opens the app. Nothing starts from a widget, a control or an icon. You unlock the app first — Face ID, Touch ID, your fingerprint or your passcode — and then choose a workflow.
- •Starting takes a deliberate hold. In the app, press and hold Hold to start until it completes. Letting go early cancels it, so a pocket tap cannot start anything.
- •It lists only what you can start yourself: a hospitalization and any custom workflow that is ready. A death, or a time when you cannot speak for yourself, is never started by you — someone you trust reports it through your Emergency Portal.
- •While an emergency is running, every shortcut opens that emergency instead.
- •On the Free plan the shortcuts still appear, and the app tells you a paid plan is needed to start an emergency workflow. Your workflows stay saved.
On iPhone: add the Home Screen widget
Needs iOS 17 or later.
- 1.Touch and hold an empty part of your Home Screen until the apps jiggle.
- 2.Tap Edit in the top corner, then Add Widget. On iOS 17, tap + instead.
- 3.Search for amoviti and tap it.
- 4.Swipe to choose a size. The medium and large widgets list your ready workflows by name, so you can tap the one you need; the small widget shows no names.
- 5.Tap Add Widget, then Done.
Workflow names are hidden while your iPhone is locked, and cleared from the widget when you sign out.
On iPhone: add a Lock Screen widget
Needs iOS 17 or later. Lock Screen widgets never show your workflows' names.
- 1.With your iPhone unlocked, touch and hold the Lock Screen until Customize appears.
- 2.Tap Customize, then choose the Lock Screen.
- 3.Tap the widget area under the time — or the line above the time — and choose amoviti.
- 4.Pick the round or rectangular widget, or the one-line version above the time.
- 5.Tap Done.
On iPhone: add the Control Center control
Needs iOS 18 or later.
- 1.Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open Control Center.
- 2.Tap + in the top corner, or touch and hold an empty space.
- 3.Tap Add a Control, search for amoviti and choose Emergency workflows.
- 4.Tap an empty area to finish.
On iPhone: put the control on your Lock Screen
Needs iOS 18 or later. The two buttons at the bottom of the Lock Screen — the flashlight and the camera — can be swapped for the amoviti control.
- 1.With your iPhone unlocked, touch and hold the Lock Screen and tap Customize, then the Lock Screen.
- 2.Tap − on the button you want to replace.
- 3.Tap + in its place, search for amoviti and choose Emergency workflows.
- 4.Tap Done.
On iPhone: use the app icon
- 1.Touch and hold the amoviti app icon.
- 2.Tap Start emergency workflow. While an emergency is running, it reads View active emergency.
On iPhone: Siri and the Shortcuts app
amoviti does not add itself to Siri or to the Shortcuts app, on purpose: an emergency is started by you, in the app, after you unlock it — never by voice or by an automation that could run without you.
On Android: use the app icon
- 1.Touch and hold the amoviti app icon.
- 2.Tap Start emergency workflow. While an emergency is running, it reads View active emergency.
- 3.To keep it one tap away, drag that shortcut out of the menu and drop it on your Home Screen. Most Android phones allow this; the exact gesture depends on your phone's maker.
On Android: what is not available yet
Home Screen widgets and Quick Settings tiles are not available on Android yet. Use the emergency button inside the app, or the app-icon shortcut above.
