Family

Family is your household and the people they would call.

Family is your household and the people they would call. Your family members come first, each with their records; then everyone else your family would need — relatives, doctors, your attorney, your accountant, your financial advisor, a neighbour with a key. They are also the people your emergency workflows contact.

Adding people

For each contact, add their name, relationship and contact details. You can store up to 50 contacts on every plan.

Each contact can also hold a role — spouse, executor, attorney, primary contact and so on. Roles matter in an emergency: for example, a hospital stay reported by someone else is confirmed by the person you listed as your spouse or main contact.

Contact details matter

amoviti reaches your contacts by email. A contact without an email address cannot be asked to confirm anything and cannot receive anything, even if they are named in your workflow. When amoviti warns that a contact is incomplete, the warning is about whether your workflow will actually work.

A phone number is still worth adding: your family can call it, and it appears in the workflow for them to use.

A person's records

Open someone in your household — you, your partner, your children, your parents — and you see their records rather than a contact card: one row for each kind of record they hold (passport, birth certificate, policies, letters), with its status and expiry. These are profiles you keep, not accounts; nobody can sign in to them.

  • •Open a row to see every file of that kind, grouped by country or by company, most recent first, with what is on record.
  • •See what's missing lists the records still worth adding for that person, the most important first. A child is only asked for a child's papers.
  • •Needs attention at the top shows anything of theirs that has expired or is due.

Homes, accounts and businesses are in Assets, each with its own file.

Children in your family

A child's page works like anyone else's, with one difference: amoviti uses their date of birth to ask only for a child's papers — a passport, a birth certificate, their dependent checklist — never a will or an insurance policy. Children have no account and cannot sign in; everything about them is entered and managed by you. See Privacy and security.

Two settings that matter in an emergency

  • •Who may confirm — who can confirm a hospital stay, and the specific people you named who can confirm your death.
  • •Who is contacted first — the order amoviti tries your people in. If the first person does not acknowledge, amoviti moves to the next.

You set both when you build a workflow.

How to make a contact emergency-ready

  1. 1.Open the contact and check their email address is current.
  2. 2.Give them the role that matches how they will help — for example executor.
  3. 3.Add them to the workflow steps they are responsible for.
  4. 4.Tell them. A person who knows they are in your workflow will recognise the email when it arrives.
