The Vault holds the documents themselves — the will, the policies, the deed, the passports, the tax returns. Every other part of amoviti refers back to what is here.
Uploading
Upload from the web or the mobile app: choose a file, or photograph a paper document with your phone's camera — several pages at once if needed.
- •Maximum file size: 25 MB per file.
- •Accepted formats: PDF, JPG/JPEG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, HEIF, DOC and DOCX.
- •ZIP files of documents are unpacked, and each file inside is added on its own.
- •Password-protected files and archives cannot be opened — remove the password first.
Categories and people
When you upload, choose one of eleven categories: Identity, Immigration, Insurance, Finance & Tax, Property, Estate Planning, Legal, Travel, Visa, Directive and Other — and the family member the document belongs to.
amoviti suggests a category from the file name, free, so "2025 tax return.pdf" lands sensibly without you doing anything. You can always change it.
Older documents may still show a Medical category. It is kept so they display correctly, but it is not offered for new uploads — amoviti does not handle medical records.
What amoviti does with a new document
When you add a document, amoviti identifies it once, automatically and free, and fills in details it finds — such as the document type and its expiry date. Those details power reminders, each person's records and your score. See AI and document analysis for how this works and what it costs to run it again.
Finding things
Search the Vault by name, category or type, and filter by family member.
How to put a document to work
A document in the Vault is stored. A document attached to a workflow is delivered — to the right person, when it is needed.
- 1.Upload the document to the Vault.
- 2.Open the emergency workflow and the step that needs it — for example "Call the insurance company".
- 3.Attach the document to that step. Only the people on that step will receive it.
Good to know
- •Name documents clearly. Your family will see these names under stress.
- •Replace expired documents rather than keeping both — reminders follow the one on record.
- •Keep the originals of legal documents somewhere safe, and write down where in your workflow.
